The Student Right to Know and Campus Security Act – Public Law 101-542 creates a federal mandate to require institutions of higher education receiving Federal financial assistance to provide certain information to students, prospective students and the general public.

Drug-Free School and Community Compliance

The unlawful possession, use, manufacture, or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol by students or employees on the property of New Mexico Military Institute is strictly prohibited. Alcohol may be served at selected events in accordance with the provisions of O&P Manual 6.4, (Use and Possession of Alcohol on NMMI Property). The Drug Free Workplace, Drug Free School, and Communities Act and Drug Free Workforce is located in Section 5.05 of the Human Resources Policies and Procedures Manual.  The policy concerning cadets is located in Section 5.5 of the Blue Book (Student Handbook).

Program/degree credit hour requirements are outlined in the Course Catalog, available to students on the institution’s website.

Student Complaints

The process of receiving and addressing student complaints is outlined in Chapter 6 of the Blue Book.

The process of receiving and addressing cadet Title IX complaints, sexual harassment, and/or discrimination is outlined in Chapter 5.9 of the Blue Book. The reporting options are outlined and shown on the last page of the Blue Book. The process for faculty and staff is outlined in the Human Resources Policy Manual.

New Mexico Military Institute does not deliver distance education courses.

The Title IV program at New Mexico Military Institute has not had a review, inspection or audit from the Department of Education in a number of years. NMMI is under no limitation from the Department of Education.

Public Notification of Comprehensive Evaluation Visit and Third Party Comment

The Higher Learning Commission will be conducting an accreditation visit in September 2020, for New Mexico Military Institute. At that time a request for comment through a series of local newspaper advertisements will be made.
