Transcripts may be obtained in three formats: Official, Unofficial or Apostilled. All transcripts requests will be held if you have a financial hold on your record.
We do not take transcript requests over the phone. You must visit our office in Lusk Hall or make an electronic request. Transcript requests are typically processed within one business day.
On the back of all official transcripts is a key to transcript grades/symbols. This contains information about our school, grading scale, transfer credit policy, repeating course policy and information on high school concurrent enrollment.
Official transcripts contain your complete NMMI academic record including all coursework (classes and grades) and degree(s) earned. An official transcript is our certified statement of your academic record.
NMMI currently issues official transcript via paper or electronically via eScrip-Safe. Before you request an electronic transcript to a school outside the schools within the eScrip-Safe network, please contact the receiving school to insure they are willing to receive a transcript officially, in electronic format.
Current students may visit the Registrar’s Office (Lusk Hall – 2nd floor) to complete an official transcript request form. Transcript requests via normal shipping (electronic or USPS first class mail) are free for current students. Additional shipping charges will apply, if you wish to send via faster shipping methods.
Former students must submit transcript requests via Transcripts on Demand. Why do we ask that you request transcripts in this manner? The Transcripts on Demand transcript request process requires that you go through a short verification process. Basically, this process will tell insure you are who you say who you are. Once you are validated through this service, your transcript request will be released to us and we will send your official transcript. The validation process is a one-time process and takes about a day to complete.
Apostille transcripts generally are needed for some international students (mostly Mexico). An Apostille is a confirmation that the document (typically a transcript) is real. Apostilles take longer to process than a typical transcript. Once your request is received, we will print your transcript, we will mail your transcript to the State of New Mexico Secretary’s Office, they will certify the document, send it back to us, then we will ship it to you via to the address and via the shipping method you chose on the request.
To request an Apostille transcript, please complete our Apostille Request Form .
Like an official, your unofficial transcript will contain your NMMI academic record including all coursework (classes and grades) and degree(s) earned. Unlike an official, we are not certifying the transcript. Your unofficial transcript is available though Self-Service. Once logged in, you may print it as you wish. You may also visit the Registrar’s Office to request an unofficial transcript.
Diplomas may be re-printed if lost, stolen or destroyed. Please complete our diploma reprint form and return to our office.
