NMMI Teams Excel at Regional National Science Bowl, Advance to Washington, D.C.
Two NMMI teams delivered an outstanding performance at the Southeastern New Mexico & West Texas Regional National Science Bowl in Carlsbad. Competing against ten teams from across the region, NMMI Team 1 earned 1st place and will advance to represent New Mexico at the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C., April 28–May 4, 2026, with all expenses covered by DOE. NMMI Team 2 also performed exceptionally well, securing 3rd place overall.
Hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy and Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, the competition tested students’ knowledge in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, energy, and earth science through an intense round-robin format.
