NMMI Signs 2+2 Engineering Articulation Agreement with Texas Tech University
The New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) has formally signed a 2+2 Articulation Agreement with Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, establishing a clear academic pathway for cadets to pursue advanced studies in engineering.
The agreement covers ten academic programs: Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Petroleum Engineering.
Through this partnership, cadets can complete their first two years of college coursework at NMMI before transferring to Texas Tech to fulfill upper-division requirements. Upon completion, students will earn a bachelor’s degree in their chosen field of study.
This collaboration offers numerous benefits for cadets and their families. NMMI provides smaller class sizes, individualized instruction, and a structured military learning environment during the early years of study, while ensuring a seamless transition into one of the nation’s leading engineering institutions. The agreement also reduces overall educational costs and provides a well-defined academic plan for degree completion.
The initiative was spearheaded by NMMI’s Math and Science Division, reflecting the Institute’s commitment to expanding STEM opportunities and preparing future engineers to meet global challenges.
