NMMI Robotics’ Teams Triumph at Southeast New Mexico Robotics Challenge

NMMI was proud to host the Southeast New Mexico Robotics Challenge, bringing together talented teams from across the region, including Central New Mexico. In a display of exceptional skill and engineering, our cadets delivered an outstanding performance.

We are thrilled to congratulate our two competing teams on their remarkable success:

• Lucas Tang and Yanming Wu: Achieved a spectacular sweep, earning the titles of Tournament Champion, Skills Champion, and the prestigious Build Award.
• Brandin Gunderson and Alexander Cmerek: Also claimed the title of Tournament Champion and were honored with the Judge Award.

With these victories, both teams have earned a qualifying spot at the 2026 JROTC National Championship in January and New Mexico State Robotics Championship in March 2026.
