The Roswell Symphony Orchestra has 66 years of history and Maestro (conductor) John Farrer has been conducting this orchestra for 53 years. He is a renowned conductor and visited the NMMI to give a presentation to the music cadets yesterday.
He talked about the synopsis and musical analysis of the upcoming concert (Oct 11): Mussorgsky, Mendelssohn and Paganini. He also shared some interesting stories about Beethoven and Leopold Stokowski. At the end of the lecture, he answered questions from the cadet about the change of the time signature in the middle of music. Also, he shared some interesting stories about leadership, in which the conductor is the leader of 60-100 musicians.
