On March 24, 2020, the NMMI Board of Regents approved MG Grizzle’s request to complete the remainder of the Spring 2020 term in a distance education format.

Although you are not currently on campus, NMMI staff and faculty remain committed to you and your success.

PLEASE NOTE: NMMI staff and faculty are currently under “Stay at Home” orders by the New Mexico governor. The majority of us are working from home. Thus, the best way to initially contact us is by email.

Tips for Your Online Success

  • Create your own Plan of the Day
  • Follow your typical class schedule (i.e. 50 minute class, then 10 minute break)
  • Find a quiet place and focus (put the phone away)
  • Continue to use all NMMI resources available to you – Writing Center/NSH Assistance/Academic Advisors

Night Study Hall/Tutoring

Math Assistance:

Col. Martinez will be available on Monday from 1930-2130 (Mountain Time). Meet with her on Zoom (see Corps email from Registrar dated April 06 for zoom link and password).

Maj. Ndaya will be available on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 1930-2130 (Mountain Time). Meet with him on Zoom (see Corps email from Registrar dated April 06 for zoom link and password).

Chemistry Assistance:

Col. Viltchinskaia will be available on Tuesday and Thursday from 1900-2200 (Mountain Time). Meet with her on Zoom (see Corps email from Registrar dated April 24 for zoom link and password).

Writing Center:

The writing center will continue to be open during normal NSH hours. Visit the Writing Center webpage to read the instructions on submitting papers for review.

High School Academic Counseling

High school students, your academic counselors remain available to assist you. Graduating seniors, continue to work closely with MAJ Smith (smith@nmmi.edu or 575-624-8361). We will have an announcement soon regarding May graduation.

For those of you returning for the 2020-21 academic year, you will be working closely with your academic counselor soon to get create your class schedule.

Cadets, remember to check their canvas for weekly lessons from their Academic Counselors.

Summer information (such as ALEKS math offerings) will be sent out during the month of April.

College Advising

Your college academic advisors are developing new ways to maintain contact with you. Email your academic advisor with your questions. Some are now using Zoom for one-to-one meetings.

May graduates, we will have an announcement soon regarding May graduation.

For those of you returning for the 2020-21 academic year, you will be working closely with your academic advisor soon to get create your class schedule. Each of you should have received your degree checklist in your NMMI email (see March 26, 2020 email titled “Your NMMI Degree Checklist”)
