NMMI Hangouts

July 18, 2017 6:30PM MST

Back to school is an exciting but nervous time for everyone! A lot of new cadets have questions and we want to give you a chance to ask yours before you join us day one.

Not sure exactly what you’ll have room for when you’re packing? Want to know what the athletic facilities are like? Wondering what there is to do in town? Or what to expect during RAT (Recruit At Training) week? Then join our YouTube Live event on July 18 at 6:30pm MST to ask questions about your future at NMMI. This live session will feature NMMI cadets and our admissions team.

Have questions about being a new student at NMMI? Ask them on social media using #NMMIDay1 or snap us at NMMILife and they will be answered on air.

March 7 6:30PM YouTube Live Q & A

Your Future Awaits in the NMMI Army ROTC Program!

Dear Future NMMI Cadet:

Do you want to become an Army officer in two years--are you up to the challenge of a fast track route to becoming a Second Lieutenant? Then join us on March 7 at 6:30 PM MST (8:30 PM EST) to learn more about NMMI's Early Commissioning Program (ECP) through our ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) program. In ECP at NMMI you can become a commissioned officer in the United States Army in two years, instead of the usual four.

During our YouTube Live event, you can hear from current cadets enrolled in the program and our admissions staff who can talk through the day-to-day and entry criteria for ECP. Ask questions during the event using #NMMIROTC or snap us at NMMILife and we will answer them on air.

Read what this cadet thinks about NMMI:

“The NMMI 2-year Early Commissioning Program has greatly developed me as a leader as it has challenged me in ways that I know a traditional 4 year ROTC could not. Due to the limited time, I am forced to learn things quicker than other individuals may have. This program has taught me how to not only develop myself, but others at the same time. This program has brought me onto the path of success as it has increased my skills and knowledge of leadership which ultimately will help me to my career goal of wanting to help others in the medical field.” -Auster Guab

Want to hear from other cadets at NMMI?

Watch the event live at nmmi.edu/hangouts or find a link to it on our social media at the time of the Q&A.

Hope you can tune in on March 7 to see if this unique program is a solid fit for you!

There are so many great reasons to come to NMMI, but don't take our word for it. Listen to what our cadets have to say! Join them in our YouTube Live event on December 7 6:30PM MST and ask ANY question you've ever wanted to know about coming to a military boarding school. No question is too crazy! We've heard them all. Post them on social media using #WhyNMMI or email them in advance to admissions@nmmi.edu.

Ready to get into a Military Service Academy? Find out about New Mexico Military Institute's Academy Preparatory Program on March 17, 2016, 6:30PM MDT. Cadets, parents, staff and faculty will talk about our distinguished, nationally-recognized prep program. This LIVE video chat will help you understand how the program prepares you academically, physically and more. Hear cadets share their experience like this one:

"As a sponsored Naval Academy Prep, I had 19 options for prep programs. I chose NMMI because of its academic credibility, athletics, and military structure. I have reaped many benefits from being at NMMI. I have learned how to efficiently manage my time and balance sports, school, and corps responsibility. I have become family with the other preps and they motivate me to achieve great things in inside and outside of the classroom."
—USNA Prep from FL, Brooke S.
