Transportation & Central Receiving Services

Transportation Services has the responsibility for maintaining over 80 pieces of equipment, performing maintenance from washing the exterior, to cleaning the interior, tune ups, brakes, fluid changes, tire changing and flats, electrical troubleshooting, seat cover changing, body work, welding and fabricating of parts, and pick up and delivery of VIP carts and golf carts for special events when needed.

Central Receiving Services has the responsibility to receive shipments from UPS, FedEx, and freight trucking companies every weekday. This department keeps track of every box received and deliver to the appropriate customer, getting their signature for proper tracking as well as ship packages back to vendors and keep track of which department to bill the shipping charges to. Some of the big items that we deliver includes pallets of paper, computers, furniture, and also pick up departed cadets’ personal items and ship them to their homes via Greyhound.

  • Vehicles – Inspection, servicing, preventative maintenance of all Institute vehicles.
  • Electrical & Fuel Powered Carts – Inspection, servicing, preventative maintenance of all assigned electrical & fuel powered carts. Golf course and grounds equipment is excluded
  • Data Collection – Collect data and keep records regarding the inspection and servicing of all applicable NMMI vehicles and equipment
  • Vehicle Reservations – Coordinate pick-up and delivery of NMMI buses and vehicles reserved for offsite support with the Facilities Department Admin team. Perform pre trip inspections.
  • Shipping and Receiving – Receive and unload materials manually or with equipment. Inspect materials for damage verifying quantity and quality of order against shipping documents; delivers and retrieves materials to and from work or storage areas throughout campus.
