The novel coronavirus, known as COVID-19, has dramatically changed all facets of day to day life. Both in our personal lives, as well as on post. For the first time in New Mexico Military Institute’s history, cadets experienced online classes. Cadets, faculty and staff all left for spring break in March of 2020 and cadets were not to be seen back on post until the beginning of the following fall semester. During our collective time in quarantine and social-isolation, many have turned to their inner muse and created many different forms of artwork to express their life and experiences during the pandemic. The New Mexico Military Institute Archives wishes to save these pieces of history for future generations to experience, understand and enjoy. The Archives is accepting many types of donations from cadets, alumni, faculty, staff and other members of the NMMI community. All donations must be original works submitted by its creator. Some examples include, but are not limited to:

  • videos
  • oral histories
  • letters
  • short stories
  • photographs
  • artwork
  • fabric face masks
  • screenshots of online classes
  • screenshots of social media posts
