International Student Cost

In-State Waiver Cost

Total cost includes tuition, fees, room, meal plan, uniforms and a laptop.

This applies to dependents of active duty or honorably discharged veterans of the US Armed Forces, Sponsored Academy Preps, Contracted SROTC Cadets and AGA athletes.

New Mexico True Costs

This rate is for NM residents. There are no exceptions.

Students should apply for the Knowles Legislative Scholarship, valued at approximately $5,600.

Returning cadets pay approximately $2,000 less due to initial uniform issue.

Admitted students are automatically considered for other scholarships.

US college students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), prior to May 1st or within one week of admission.

US Armed Services Tuition Discount

In recognition of the sacrifices made by military families and our desire to provide leaders for New Mexico and the nation, the NMMI Board of Regents has approved the in-state cost for out of state students rate for military families. Active duty members of the US Armed forces and their dependents as well as honorably discharged veterans of the US Armed Forces and their dependents are eligible to pay the in-state waiver rate at NMMI. This discount applies to NMMI’s boarding high school as well as the Junior College. To qualify for this discount students must be accepted to NMMI through our normal admission process and provide one of the following documents:

  • DD 214 – Department of Defense separation document showing an Honorable discharge.
  • DD Form 4-1/2 – Department of Defense Enlistment Document.
  • DA Form 597 or 597-3 – Proof of a contracted SROTC member for ECP/ SMP
  • DA Form 2-1 – Department of the Army personnel Qualification Record (issued during service and prior to issuance of DD 214), or equivalent from Air Force and Marines.

The qualifying dependent of such must provide one of the forms and proof of relationship; birth certificate, guardianship document, etc. to qualify for the reduced rate.

Western Undergraduate Exchange

New Mexico Military Institute is a member of the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Program for students from the WICHE States (see the map above). This program provides Junior College students from Alaska, Arizona, California,Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. who are otherwise admissible and have a composite ACT super-score of a 22 or a composite SAT super-score of 1120 (New SAT) with tuition at 150% of the in-state waiver rate.

For 2017-2018, the projected overall cost without scholarships, financial aid or other assistance is $14,170.50. Total cost includes tuition, fees, room, meal plan, uniforms and a laptop.

Texas Reciprocity Agreement

NMMI offers Junior College students from Texas who are otherwise admissible and have a composite ACT super-score of a 22 or a composite SAT super-score of 1120 (New SAT) with tuition at 150% of the in-state waiver rate.

Payment Plans

Payment plans can be set up through our service provider partner, NelNet Business Solutions, beginning April 2. Setting up your payment plan by the May 1 deposit deadline (or within one week of admission after May 1) will allow for the longest repayment terms and all remaining Fall charges after scholarships are applied can be split into six payments. Payment plans should be made as soon as possible after admission to allow for the longest repayment time. Students must either make payment arrangements or payment in full prior to July 27, 2017.
