Admissions Process

1. Submit an online inquiry form.


2. Submit a free online admission application. Priority deadline is March 1.

Applications will be accepted after the deadline, however our ability to help fund your education is contingent on funds available.

We also accept the SSAT Standard Application Online.


3. Submit your official transcripts

All applicants may send partial/unofficial transcripts or report cards to expedite the admissions process and then have official transcripts sent at the completion of  the current semester. Junior college applicants must have final high school transcript showing graduation date and GPA or GED results and transcripts for any college work. Please have transcripts sent directly to our office by the school.


4. Submit Standardized Test Results

High School applicants will complete our admission examination during their campus visit. Students who have taken the SSAT (SSAT Code: 5309) or other standardized tests should submit those scores to NMMI.

Junior College applicants please send SAT or ACT scores. Scores may be sent directly to our office by the testing service we also accept scores reported on official school transcripts. The school code for ACT is 002644 and for SAT is 4534.

International High School applicants should submit SSAT (SSAT Code: 5309) scores to NMMI. While we prefer SSAT, other scores may be considered and should be submitted.

International Junior College students must submit ACT, SAT, iBT TOEFL, Cambridge First or IELTS tests.

Students from Mexico should contact COL Nancy Burrola for information on events, testing and interviews in Mexico.


5. Submit the Prospective Cadet Questionnaire

Please fill out the Prospective Cadet Questionnaire and submit the form to the Office of Admissions.


6. Visit the Post (Required for High School Applicants)

You can schedule your visit to campus online right now or you can call us at 1-800-421-5376 to schedule or get more information. High school applicants will also take the Math Placement Examination and complete their interview during the campus visit.


7. Submit All Required Documentation

Physical Examination - You may download our Physical Examination form and have you physician complete it.

All cadets are required to participate in certain physical activities (e.g. marching in parade formation with a rifle, running the obstacle course, close order drill and intramural athletics), all considered essential to the traditions of a military school.

Health and Consent Form - Download the Health and Consent form and make sure you to sign the form. (If the applicant is under 18 years of age a parent or guardian must sign.)

Immunization Records - New Mexico state law requires that all immunizations are up-to-date and on file prior to enrollment. We also accept immunization records which are printed on your official transcript.

Birth Certificate - Please provide a copy of the applicant's official birth certificate.

Proof of Medical Insurance Coverage - Proof of Medical Insurance is required before or at matriculation day.


8. Deposit to hold your place in the fall class!

Our tuition deposit is $350.00 and is due by May 1st (If you are offered a position in the class after May 1, submit the deposit within seven business days). This amount will be applied to your fall charges. If you have questions about the deposit or are on a scholarship that covers your costs, please contact us at admissions@nmmi.edu.


Once we receive your application and the required paperwork we will review your file, make our admission decision and notify you of that decision.
