Senior Chief Charles Scott came to NMMI from Tucson, AZ where he was a high school counselor and NCAA Coordinator for 5 years. Prior to launching his career in school counseling, Senior Chief Scott worked for the National Park Service, finishing up his career as the Fire Management Officer at Saguaro National Park, and retiring after 27 years. Senior Chief Scott retired from the United States Naval Reserves after 27 years - 4 active (serving aboard USS Midway (CVA-41) during Vietnam), and 23 reserve.
He completed a B.A. in Recreation Management from San Diego State University, an M.Ed. in School counseling from Northern Arizona University, and a certificate in College Admissions Counseling through UCLA Extension.
He has completed his 2nd year at NMMI having graduated the Class of 2012, and is now working with the incoming 6th Class Cadets, (freshmen).
He is also in his 2nd year as the US Naval Academy's Blue and Gold Officer for Southeastern New Mexico.

Senior Chief Scott is an active member in the American School Counselor Association, the National Association for College Admissions Counseling, and currently serves on the Executive Board of the Rocky Mountain Association for College Admissions Counseling as a Delegate.
