Chaplain Musgrave was born in Columbus, Ohio and
graduated from Westerville, High School, Westerville, Ohio.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio State
University, Master of Divinity Degree from United Theological Seminary,
in Dayton Ohio, and a Master of Arts in Ethics from Butler University in
Indianapolis Indiana. He is
an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church and a member of the
Missouri Annual Conference of the United Methodist church. He has served churches in Ohio, Georgia, and Missouri. As an
Army Chaplain he served at the U.S. Army Aviation Center, Fort Rucker,
Alabama; Third Brigade of Third Armored Division, Friedberg, West
Germany; The Soldier Support Center, Fort Harrison, Indiana, and his
last active duty assignment was, School Chaplain, Leadership Branch
Chief and Ethics instructor at the U.S. Army Engineer School at Fort
Leonard Wood, Missouri. Chaplain Musgrave retired from the Army in 1995 at the rank
of Major. He worked for
Advanced Systems Technology managing the U. S. Army Engineer Center’s Computer Battle Simulation Facility.
Chaplain Musgrave has served as adjunct faculty, Park College and
Columbia College, teaching Ethics and introductory Philosophy Courses. He
came to the New Mexico Military Institute in August 1999 to serve as the
Institute Chaplain, Cadet Counselor and Assistant Professor of
Philosophy. He married to Penny Swisher in 1966. Dan and Penny have one son, Jason a Computer Scientist who
resides in Denver, Colorado. Chaplain
Musgrave’s affiliations include: The Military Officer’s
Association, The Chaplain’s Regiment. His
hobbies are: Amateur Radio, automobile restoration, wood working,
fishing and hunting. Publications:
Pamphlet, Marriage in Middletown, 1973, Computer Technology and the
Chaplaincy, The Military Chaplain’s Review, 1983.
His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with two oakleaf
clusters, the Army Commendation Metal, the Army Achievement Metal, the
Overseas Service Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon and U.S. Army Master
Instructor Certification. |
