-
We should never lie to a cadet.
-
We should strive to promptly responsible
to legitimate cadet requests for information or action and dependably
good to our word in doing what we say will be done.
-
We believe that cadets are entitled to a
safe and humane environment at New Mexico Military Institute.
-
We believe in the human capacity to change
and improve oneself.
-
We believe that all cadets should be treated with equal
consideration as individuals with due regard to their personal
uniqueness.
-
We believe that cadets can and should be treated with
respect, courtesy and human dignity without compromising the essential
element of professional distance.
-
We believe that discriminatory actions and their
results should not be tolerated and the expression of intolerant
attitudes should be discouraged.
-
We believe that foul language only detracts from a
desirable professional image.
-
We believe that regulations not directed to good order
and discipline should not be imposed but, also, that unacceptable
conduct should be clearly delineated and behavior threatening good order
and discipline dealt with swiftly.
-
We believe that explanations should be provided for
changes in policies and procedures which cadets perceive as detracting
from their quality of life.
-
We recognize the importance of establishing positive
models of behavior that reinforce the key values of the Institute.
-
We recognize that cadets respond more positively if
motivated by respect and reason than if intimidated by rank or fear.
