McBride Museum
(Located inside the
Enrollment and Development Center)

Originally built in 1918 and named Luna Natatorium in honor of Lieutenant
Antonio J. Luna '14, this building housed the first indoor swimming pool west of
the Mississippi River. The pool was used for all water activities until the
completion of the Godfrey Athletic Center in 1981.
Transition from a natatorium to a museum
began in the early 1980s and the building became a museum, showcasing the historical heritage of NMMI and the Corps of Cadets.
In 2006 the building was again renovated to become NMMI's Enrollment and
Development Center (EDC.) The EDC houses the offices of Admissions,
Financial Aid, the NMMI Foundation, and the NMMI Alumni Association. The
McBride Museum is located on the second floor of the Enrollment and
Development Center.
Major displays center around corps life and military conflicts in which
alumni have served. The Hall of Fame, an ever-growing collection of outstanding
alumni, is also located in the museum and recognizes the achievements of NMMI
graduates as they live out the motto: "Duty - Honor - Achievement."
The McBride Museum is open to the public,
free on charge, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., during regular work
days. The McBride Museum may close for special events and holidays. Call
