Captain Walker served in the United States Navy in security unit from 1969-74. After returning from service and finishing college he opened a private practice and licensure in Clovis, New Mexico working in Brief Solution Based therapy with individuals and families 1993-95.
Captain Walker worked as high school counselor 1999-2001. Duties included Crisis intervention/counseling, academic scheduling and development, testing, parent and community relations.
Captain Walker contracted with Adult Federal Probation and Parole 2003. Duties include drug intervention and prevention, groups/individual, and urinalysis testing.
Captain Walker became the Director of Career Services and Mental Health Counseling at Eastern New Mexico University 2000-2006.
Responsible for all mental health operations for students including diagnosis and treatment. Also responsible for university career program including job fairs, teacher fairs and assisting students as a career coach and placement.
Captain Walker owned and operated as clinical therapist for Group home for "at risk youth". 2005-2007 responsible for ongoing therapy, career training and education. Facility housed 16 males and females.
