Department of Athletics and Physical Fitness

The NMMI Department of Athletics and Physical Fitness is headquarters for 24 different organized sports teams, the Human Performance and Sports Medicine/Athletic Training programs. Its facilities include the Cahoon Armory Building and the Godfrey Athletic Center, as well as several athletic fields.

Junior College Broncos:

New Mexico Military Institute’s eight junior college teams, known as the Broncos, compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association at the Division I level. The football team currently plays in the Western States Football League, but will move into the Southwestern Junior College Football Conference for the Fall 2016 season. The rest of our teams play in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference.

High School Colts:

New Mexico Military Institute’s 16 high school teams, known as the Colts, compete in the New Mexico Activity Association at the Class 4A level.
