Colts Tennis Second at District Tournament

Portales, NM -- Colts' number one singles player The Rex-Horoi defeated teammate Carlos Murillo in the finals of the District 4-3A Tournament to bring home the individual singles championship.  In doubles action, Jeff Gulitus and Octavio Alvidrez defeated Portales in the finals to win the doubles title.  In team play, the Colts fell in the finals to Portales 5-4. 

The Colts have qualified for the state tournament and have earned the #2 seed.  They will take on the Bosque School on Friday, May 4 with singles play starting at 3:30 and doubles starting at 5:00.  The match will be played at Albuquerque Academy. 

Murillo and Rex-Horoi qualified for the individual tournament.  Murillo earned the number three seed while Rex-Hori secured the seventh seed.  Gulitus and Alvidrez earned the third seed and a bye in the doubles tournament. 

The Lady Colts' doubles team, Jana Hindi and Morgan Kersh qualified and will take on the fifth seed from St. Michaels.
