Hot Springs
Handles NMMI 48-0
9/21/07
Roswell, NM – Hot
Springs tallied over 350 yards of total offense on their way to a 48-0
victory over New Mexico Military Institute. Despite being shut out for
the second time this season, the Colts had their most productive game
this season gaining 92 yards of total offense.
Hot Springs took
advantage of an NMMI turnover deep in their own territory and turned it
into 8 points after a 22-yard touchdown run and a successful two-point
conversion. They would go on to score five more times in the half to go
up 42-0.
The Colts’ offense
made use of the swinging gate formation to gain some momentum but were
unable to put the ball in the end zone. DeMarcus Doucette led the Colts
with 58 yards rushing and 33 yards passing.
The Colts fall to 0-3
on the season while Hot Springs improves to 3-1. NMMI has an off week
before St. Michael’s comes to town on October 5th.
