The NMMI
Fight Song is sung after touchdowns and team victories, and
hasn't been heard much at Colt football games the past three
years. But Friday that changed, as NMMI (1-5) broke an almost
three-year winless string in style, pounding Dulce (1-4) 39-0.

For the second week in a row, the Colt offense sputtered, showing signs
of life, but never could get on track. After gaining just 80 yards in
total offense against a very tough Yellowjacket defense in last week's
27-0 loss on the road in Clayton, the Colts hoped to improve against
Hagerman. It wasn't to be, however, as the Bobcat 'D' proved just as
tenacious, and NMMI lost 25-7. ...
Clayton 27, NMMI Colts 0
Excerpt from The Roswell Daily Record
9/13/08
The first victory since 2005 continues to elude the New Mexico Military
Institute Colts, as they lost 27-0 in Clayton Friday Night. They were
held to only 80 yards of offense while allowing 302 yards in what was an
uninspired performance. "We didn't travel well," said head coach David
Lynn. The lone bright spot for the Colts was Rodrigo Camino's team
leading 10 tackles and forced fumble. The Colts try for a win again
Sept. 19 at home against Hagerman. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

It was a close game, and for a
while, it seemed like the New

losing streak. But too many big
plays and too many penalties
proved to be the difference, and
the Colts lost to the Tucumcari
Rattlers, 29-14 at Colt field.

NMMI team faces challenges
Roswell Daily Record

The high school teams at New
Mexico Military Institute face a
problem most other high schools
in the state don't. Because NMMI
is a boarding school, and
students come from all over the
country, Colt athletes
haven't had the chance to play
together through elementary and
junior high school like most
public school athletes have. ...
