their district meets over the next few days, with hopes of not
only winning district titles but qualifying for the state meet
Nov. 8. The top three teams in each district qualify for state,
with the top three individuals who are not part of teams

RUIDOSO - Facing one of the toughest courses of the season and
both the most and some of the best competition, area cross
country teams still had some solid efforts Thursday at the
Ruidoso Invitational. Twenty-four schools, ranging from 5A to
1A, traveled to the mountain community to run a course that a
lot of runners described as brutal. And while the top teams and
runners weren't much of a surprise, there were some better local

The four Roswell teams that compete in cross country got
together Thursday to decide which school is fastest. And
overall, while Goddard came out on top of the City Meet, all

Hobbs and Clovis, ranked eighth and 11th in the 5A/4A boys team
coaches poll, unsurprisingly dominated at the NMMI Cross
Country Invitational Saturday, but local teams and runners also
