Colts take second at Tularosa Basin Tournament 12/9/2006
Tularosa, NM -- The Colt basketball team had a good showing in their first appearance at the Tularosa Basin Basketball Tournament. The Colts went 2-1 and took home second place. In the opening round, NMMI defeated Cloudcroft 76-49. They took on host Tularosa in the second round. Demarcus Doucette had his best game of the season scoring 17 points as the Colts won 55-50. In the championship round, NMMI was beaten by Mesilla Valley 59-53. Connor Williamson had a season high 21 points in the losing effort.
Earlier in the week, the Colts dropped a close game to Artesia 56-53. Greg McCoy and Andrew Cowan both had 11 points. Connor Williamson pitched in with 10. The Colts record stands at 7-3 on the season with one game against Roswell High before the winter break. |
