Colts Upend Warriors to Secure 3rd Seed

Roswell, NM – Sixteen and counting.  Zero wins last season, sixteen wins this season.  That could be the most impressive single-season turnaround in NMMI sports history.  The Colt basketball team won their sixteenth game of the season with a victory over the Ruidoso Warriors on Friday.  The Colts won the fast-paced game 74-57 with senior guard Connor Williamson leading the way with 23 points.  Rodrigo Leon had his best game of the season, scoring all of his 8 points in the first half to give the Colts the early advantage.  With the win, the Colts finished the season 16-9 and 5-3 in district play.  They earned the third seed in the district tournament and will play the winner of the Dexter/Ruidoso game on Tuesday at 7 pm in Cahoon Armory.
