Three Colts Earn
All-District Honors
Williamson Lands on All-State 2nd Team
3/27/07
Roswell, NM --
The post season accolades
have rolled in for the Colt basketball team. Seniors
Tom Bottomly and Connor Williamson, along with junior
DeMarcus Doucette earned District 4-3A honors.
Williamson was also honored with the Associated Prep 2nd
Team All-State honor.
Bottomly, a 6-5 senior post
player from Socorro, New Mexico led the Colts with a solid
inside presence. His defense and big body in the lane
helped improve the Colt defense during the 2006-07 season.
Williamson, a senior guard from
Roswell, led the Colts averaging over 18 points per game.
Along with his scoring presence, Williamson's defense
pressured the opponents throughout the season.
Doucette, from Allen, Texas,
made a sudden impact to the Colt basketball team as a
junior. In his first season at NMMI, Doucette ran the
NMMI offense from the point guard position. He was
able to distribute the ball effectively as the Colts made
great strides this season.
This marks the end to the
2006-07 season in which the Colts went 19-11 and played in
the quarterfinal round of the Class 3A State Basketball
Tournament.
