Odessa Cruises Past NMMI 83-61

Roswell, NM – New Mexico Military Institute dropped to 0-2 in conference with an 83-61 loss to Odessa College in Cahoon Armory on Thursday night. Odessa took a 42-28 lead at halftime. NMMI was able to cut the lead down to 6 with 14 minutes remaining in the game with the score being 66-60. Odessa regained the momentum and went on to the 22 point victory. NMMI’s Byron Byrd added another double-double as he scored a team-high 20 points and 12 rebounds. Dragoslav Papic was the game’s leading scorer with 22 points. NMMI shot only .377 from the floor while Odessa shot .508. Odessa improves to 12-2 overall and 2-1 in conference while NMMI drops to 4-10 and 0-2 in conference.
