NMMI Basketball Downs LCU in Home Opener

Roswell, NM – New Mexico Military Institute evened their record at 2-2 with a 75-55 victory over Lubbock Christian University JV. The win was their first at home this season after starting the season 1-2 on the road.
The Broncos led the slow paced first half by a score of 30-19. Sophomore forward Byron Byrd led the team in the first half with 6 points.
The intensity picked up in the second half as NMMI outscored LCU 45-36. Byrd would score 14 of his game high 20 points in the second half. He also led the team with 8 rebounds. Timothy Henderson scored a team high 10 points for LCU.
NMMI will travel to Colorado Springs to take part in the Air Force Prep Husky Classic, November 8-10.
