After a pair of heartbreaking losses in Monday's doubleheader against Trinidad State Junior College, the New Mexico Military Institute Broncos (5-8) were in need of healing. The Wayland Baptist (JV) Pioneers (0-7) were just what the Broncos' doctor ordered.

Trinidad uses pair of comebacks to sweep NMMI
For the New Mexico Military Institute Broncos (4-8) Monday was one to forget. The Broncos blew a 3-0 third-inning in their morning game against the Trinidad State Junior College Trojans (5-3) to lose 18-9. Unfortunately, they followed that loss by blowing an 8-1 lead in the top of the seventh inning of the windy second game, falling 15-8.

Broncos salvage Saturday split
The New Mexico Military Institute Broncos (4-6) came up just short in the first game, 8-7, against the Trinidad State Trojans (3-3) in overtime of the first game. The Broncos bounced back with a big four-run bottom of the sixth inning, highlighted by a three-run blast by first baseman Sergio Marquez, to win the second game, 8-1, and split the Saturday doubleheader.
