against Trinidad State
Junior College, the New
Mexico Military
Institute Broncos (5-8)
were in need of healing.
The Wayland Baptist (JV)
Pioneers (0-7) were just
what the Broncos' doctor
ordered.

Trinidad uses pair of
comebacks to sweep NMMI |
For the New Mexico Military
Institute Broncos (4-8) Monday
was one to forget. The Broncos
blew a 3-0 third-inning in their
morning game against the
Trinidad State Junior College
Trojans (5-3) to lose 18-9.
Unfortunately, they followed
that loss by blowing an 8-1 lead
in the top of the seventh inning
of the windy second game,
falling 15-8.

Saturday split |
The New Mexico Military
Institute Broncos (4-6)
came up just short in
the first game, 8-7,
against the Trinidad
State Trojans (3-3) in
overtime of the first
game. The Broncos
bounced back with a big
four-run bottom of the
sixth inning,
highlighted by a
three-run blast by first
baseman Sergio Marquez,
to win the second game,
8-1, and split the
Saturday doubleheader.

Mexico University Greyhounds baseball team
traveled to Golden Colorado last weekend and
swept a pair of games from the Colorado School
of Mines Orediggers, 20-11 and 2-0. It was the
second game that is of particular note for NMMI
baseball fans...

Broncos Varela leads comeback victory |
The NMMI Broncos (3-5) and Lamar County
Lopes (3-1) squared off in a Sunday
doubleheader. In the first game, the
Lopes dominated 10-1 but the second game
was a come-from-behind 5-4 victory for
the Broncos to salvage the series.

doubleheaders, the Lamar Community
College Runnin' Lopes (2-0) opened their
season with a pair of wins by defeating
the New Mexico Military Institute
Broncos (2-4) 12-1 and 9-8 at NMMI Field
on Saturday.

In their season opening doubleheader on a
baseball-friendly Saturday afternoon, the New
Mexico Military Institute Broncos hosted Otero
Junior College, but failed to get the result
they were hoping for as they dropped both, 10-1
and 6-0.

Bradford Earns Appointment to USAFA 5/14/07
Roswell, NM -- Roswell, NM -- New Mexico Military
Institute's Clay Bradford has just been awarded an
appointment to the United States Air Force Academy.
Originally from Amarillo, Texas, Bradford attended NMMI as a
freshman in 2006-07.
