District Post-Season Play Begins
The Colt Boys' Basketball Team begins post-season play in
the 4-3A District Tournament this week. The bracket design is a
standard ladder format based on the district record: the team with the
best district record (Portales) receives the best bracket placement, in
this case gaining 'byes' for the first three rounds. NMMI's 4-4 record
in 4-3A was good enough for a 3rd place finish in district, earning a
bye in the first round and home court for the second round vs. the
winner of the Dexter/Ruidoso game.
