Colonel George Brick assumed his duties as Vice Dean of Academics/High School Principal, New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI), 6 August, 2007. Working on completing his education throughout his military service, and after a break in active duty, Colonel Brick received his Bachelor of Science, Social Science from Southern Oregon State College. His career in education began after he earned a Master of Science, Educational Leadership from Troy State University. |

Colonel Brick comes to NMMI with eleven years experience as an administrator and teacher in private, charter, and public schools. Along with his experience as an educator, Colonel Brick brings an understanding of military life and values. He retired from the U. S. Marine Corps as a Master Sergeant in 1992. Taking advantage of the current emphasis on high academic standards and high stakes testing, Colonel Brick has received extensive state and federally sponsored training. In his previous assignment he reorganized course offerings to more accurately reflect student needs, instituted a master teacher/mentor program, led the local Professional Development Leadership Academy, and implemented standards based instruction. |

His decorations include the Silver Star Medal and the Purple Heart. Colonel Brick is married to the former Ponda Franks. They have three children and five grandchildren. |
